Skiing in Pike Place Market, Credit: John Mauro

In response to my  post about December’s snowstorm, “Snow Days and Social Capital,” a friend sent along a tale of how he and several friends telemarked their way around the city on that Sunday. Their route-which included Pike Place Market–is mapped here.

This photo is the evidence.

I couldn’t *not* share it.

The photographer, by the way, is John Mauro, director of Cascade Bike Club’s Commute Programs. And the guy doing the telemark turn is Ross Freeman, who usually skis and works at Stevens Pass as the ski area’s Environment and Sustainability Manager.
