Review the fundamentals of framing -- and dig into "advanced" framing strategies:

  • Review and refresh: The basic elements of good framing (frame vs. re-frame, launching a frame and sustaining it, etc.)

  • Facts and story, core logic and metaphor – striking a crucial balance

  • Deep frames and historic frames
  • Understanding the media echo and the power of pundits

  • Tracking "problem" frames across issues

About Jeffrey Feldman

Jeffrey Feldman is the author of the book Framing the Debate: Famous Presidential Speeches and How Progressives Can Use Them to Change the Conversation (And Win Elections)and founder of the influential political blog Frameshop.

Feldman has a Ph.D. in Cultural Anthropology which he applies broadly to the analysis of politics and communication. He lives and teaches in New York City, and is a frequent guest on several national syndicated radio shows, including: Action Point With Cynthia Black (KPHX, Phoenix), The Peter B. Collins Show (KRXA, Monterey), and The Thom Hartmann Radio Program, which can be heard locally and online via Air America Radio.

His framing workshops have inspired and informed political communicators around the country.


Workshop Details

When: Monday, May 19, 8:30 am – 12:30 pm

Where: The 2100 Building, 2100 24th Avenue South, Seattle, WA 98144. Map.
