An open letter from EPA staff to the American public

“As current and former employees at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) who developed and implemented the agency’s environmental justice funding and grant programs, we want to offer our first-hand insights about the efficiency and importance of this work… This is about protecting the health of our communities.”

Opinion: America, this is what environmental justice is. And what we all stand to lose

“All people, no matter their ZIP code or bankroll, should be protected from pollution. This is as true for working class white communities as it is for migrant farmworker communities and residents in centuries-old Indigenous villages and historic African American neighborhoods.,” said Matthew Tejada, former deputy assistant administrator for environmental justice at the EPA.
