Series: Archaic Election Methods Hurt Democracy
Voters expect elected representatives to look and act roughly like voters. Other democracies use voting systems that guarantee representational results, but the United States and Canada haven’t upgraded their democratic software in centuries, leading to some of the most unrepresentative democracies and disenfranchised voters in the world. We can fix this by spreading the use of voting systems such as ranked-choice voting that are already in use in the United States and around the world.
