Pam MacRae
Pam MacRae, finance manager, makes sure that the accuracy and usefulness of Sightline’s financial reports matches that of its research products. She is elated to work at an organization where car-lessness, spreadsheets, and a sense of place are openly valued. With a degree in Peace Studies from Colgate University, she has worked at nonprofits advocating disarmament, death penalty abolition, community economic development, and more. She spends the other part of her work week increasing economic opportunity for people with disabilities. In her off time, Pam attempts to play in the mountains at least 59 weeks a year. Great news on the phone book front: Washington officials are proposing new rules that would end the state's absurd mandatory delivery of white pages listings.
Even better, the state is proposing an "opt-in" system---meaning you won't be saddled with a white pages book unless you ask for one---which is the least wasteful, least costly, and least annoying way to handle things. It's a rule change that would be consistent with actions taken in many other states:
