Sightline on Exxon, Climate Denialism, and Portland’s Role in the Thin Green Line

SwatchJunkies

November 5, 2015

As Portland prepares to enact the strongest anti-fossil-fuels legislation anywhere in the US, it’s a good time to evaluate the role the Northwest plays in opposing the coal, oil, and gas industries. Toward that end, check out this 45-minute radio interview taped on Monday in which I explored the significance of Portland’s leadership with KBOO Radio host Barbara Bernstein and Sightline research fellow Nick Abraham, who is also the editor of Oil Check NW. We also examined the role Cascadia played in Shell’s failed Arctic drilling plans, as well as the emerging evidence that Exxon has been involved in obfuscating climate science to a degree that may actually be eligible for federal prosecution.
